Art Deco era (1920s and 1930s): We think of Art Deco as cool and sophisticated, so it’s no wonder that white metal was popular during this period. Again, platinum was the metal of choice for fine jewellery, and white gold is a good option for re-creating these timeless designs. Motifs of the period include geometric shapes and bold colour contrasts created by pairing diamonds with rubies, emeralds or sapphires.
