Makers are provided with an outlet for their skills and a steady fair income so that they can support themselves and their families, and educate their children.

Our boxes are made from sheep and goat skins that are sourced exclusively as a by-product of the local food industry in Bangladesh, helping to reduce waste in their country and our environment.  Each skin is produced using a traditional vegetable tanning process, creating a much smaller impact on the environment compared to the typical chemical tanning processes.

LEATHER CARE

With these traditional processes and natural materials come a degree of variation in skin and intensity of colour enhancing the attractive qualities of each piece. It also means that some of the colours used change over time, either darkening or developing a different hue completely due to the environment and light. It is important not to leave the products in direct light as it can bleach them. Sources of heat can cause dryness and moisture can stain. This is normal for all leather products unless specially treated.
