Love stories: Kitty Day and Johnnie Martin

TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOURSELves?

Our names are Johnnie and Kitty. Johnnie is an investor at an early stage Venture Capital fund, and Kitty is a PA at Soho House in the design team.

We live and work in London and got married in April 2025.

HOW DID YOU MEET? 

We met at University - we lived next door to each other!

Tell us about the proposal?

I was in New York with work over our 5th anniversary so Johnnie decided to fly out to spend the weekend together. Little did I know Johnnie had been working with Bear over the last few months and had the proposal planned! 

What led you to Bear?

I had been an admirer of Bear’s work for the last few years and had been subtly (or not so subtly apparently) sending Johnnie pieces that Bear had created that I loved. My grandfather had a gypsy wedding ring and I always knew I wanted that. The hinting definitely worked as Bear created my dream ring! Having our wedding bands made with Bear was also very special to both pick our bands together 

TELL US ABOUT THE BIG DAY? 

It's so easy to fall into cliches when talking about the big day - but honestly, our wedding was the best day of our lives. From the start, we wanted it to feel like one, big dinner party with all our favourite people - and that's exactly how it was. We said our vows at our local town hall, then jumped in the car while our guests jumped on the bus to our favourite restaurant, where we ate, drank and danced late into the night. What made it so unforgettable was seeing our family and friends gathered together in the place that we love.
